Candice is a young mother diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma (bone cancer) in March 2010 when she was only 19 years of age. She had surgery to her leg and numerous cycles of chemotherapy for over 12months. Sadly she relapsed with brain cancer in 2012. In April 2014, Candice suffered from spinal cord compression and needed urgent spinal surgery. She is now in a wheel chair and has minimal time left. Candice and her husband Steven’s priority is their 9 year old daughter, Enjay.
One of Candice’s main concerns is to ensure Enjay is well looked after and provided for when she is no longer here. Her wish was for Enjay to have a good quality comfortable bed that will last her throughout her teens. The Orange Pigeon contacted Debbie from Forty Winks in Darwin.
Debbie went above and beyond in ensuring Enjay’s bed was what she was after, she also reduced the price of the bed and mattress so that it would meet the available budget The Orange Pigeon has for a wish and she went a step further by donating all of the linen.
Candice and Enjay were quite emotional when receiving the gift. “This is just so amazing, and I am so thankful for this. I am just so happy for Enjay - this has really put a smile on her face, especially because it was just her birthday last week.”
We thank Debbie and Connie from Forty Winks Darwin and also NT News for providing this photo and wish Candice, Steven and Enjay all the best. Our thoughts are with you all
