Chris's Wish - To drive a Ferrari

Nikki contacted The Orange Pigeon us about her brother Chris who is battling Burkitts Lymphoma and was told that the cancer he has been fighting for three years is not responding to the chemo, radiation or the bone marrow transplant that he received.

For the last three years Chris has been in and out of the Alfred Hospital spending months at time fighting Burkitts Lymphoma and then Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. He has recently been advised by his doctors that there is nothing else that they can do for him bar an exploratory drug that may buy him some time.

Nikki said "Chris has always dreamt about being able to drive a Ferrari and I would like this wish to be granted for him." With the help from Red Balloon we were not only able to grant this wish but also provide him with a four wheel drive adventure and a special ride on the Melbourne Wheel as well. Thank you Red Balloon.

After the wish Nikki said," It worked a treat and was SO awesome to see him have the energy to be so excited he talked about it non stop today. The company was amazing and we went and had a drink to celebrate after. I just can't thank you enough for the precious gift you've given him. But you do need to know (and I hope you realise this often) that your gift to one person is actually a gift to so many. We will forever cherish this day that let us forget how ugly cancer is and and realise how beautiful life can be. As for now we take it one day at a time. We are looking at booking more things just so that we all have something to strive for, a moment that we all put a smile on. Things like a night in the city and stuff.Chris' wish has given me a smile that I thought I had lost and I just couldn't let the day end without thanking you for it."

RIP Chris 8/3/1988 - 21/6/2014
