Diane was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia in 2007. In 2014 she had to undergo chemo for a growth in her throat. As Diane was unwell and was suffering constantly her husband organised a special trip to the Whitsundays for Diane and her family where the family stayed in Hamilton Island’s Yacht Club Villas.
Diane’s daughter Danielle contacted The Orange Pigeon, to see if we could organise a Sunset Cruise for Diane and the family on board the Denison Star whilst they were there. We contacted the Denison Star were more than happy to help and treated Diane and her family like royalty.
Danielle said “the cruise was amazing and so was the staff of the Denison Star, they reserved mum and our family a special table on the deck of their yacht that was private and looking out, watching the sun set over the ocean. The staff on the Denison Star were friendly courteous and no request was too big or too small for them. The food was amazing and my mum had such a wonderful and special time. I don’t think she will ever forget it and neither will our family. We would all like to say thank you to The Orange Pigeon and their efforts to grant this wish for mum, she enjoyed every moment. We would all thoroughly also recommend the Denison Star to anyone, it was a wonderful time for us all. ! I can honestly say that the food on their yacht was 5 star! They catered for all of us and especially the kids, it was wonderful! They also treated mum like a VIP and she felt really special”
Danielle added “Personally, being the one who applied for mums wish, please understand how appreciative I am, it was fantastic to see her so happy and relaxed. She really loved her cruise and for our family it will always be such a beautiful memory to have. It must give you so much pleasure in helping people like mum.”
We say a picture says a thousand words, and a truer statement has not been said after seeing the photos of Diane’s special Sunset Cruise.
