Eugene's Wish - Essendon Game Meet & Greet
Eugene has terminal cancer and has been quite unwell. His granddaughter Tayla nominated him for a wish to be able to attend an Essendon football match in Melbourne and meet the players. He cherishes the team and really looks up to James Hird.The Orange Pigeon organised for both Eugene and his wife Shirley to come to Melbourne and spend a weekend together staying at the Grand Mecure at the Docklands.
Representatives from Essendon Football Club meet Eugene and Shirley at Melbourne Airport and took them back to the Essendon Football Club Training grounds where they meet the team and watched them train. Eugene was then be presented with some signed memorabilia and tickets to the Essendon v's Hawthorn match that night. Essendon organised transport for them to get to their hotel in Melbourne. They Saturday exploring Melbourne with dinner at the Grand Mecure each night and a limo service returning them to the airport. With thanks to the Essendon Football Club.
