James' Wish - To be Far Away From Hospitals
James, a father of two, was diagnosed with Leukaemia in September 2013. He spent the first 6 weeks of his diagnoses in a coma, suffering a stroke and complete respiratory failure.
He has been in and out of hospital since his diagnoses. He craves normality and loving the great outdoors - his wish was to be able to be as far away from a hospital environment as possible, and to share his love of the great outdoors with his two children.
His wife Sarah nominated him for a wish, for a simple campertrailer so they could get up and go camping whenever they had the opportunity. The Orange Pigeon Inc. contacted Swag Camper Trailers to see if they could help. We were simply floored by their response. They decided to completely donate a 9 foot off road camper trailer! Simply amazing and quite overwhelming to be honest. Kerry and Ben from Swag Camper Trailers in QLD were incredibly kind and so very compassionate and wanted to do all they could to help James and his family.
We let Sarah know that James's wish was granted, but asked her not to let James in on it. We flew them both down to Melbourne and they were in the audience at our Gala Event in June 2014, as we played the below video.
Our ambassador Lehmo then called James and Sarah to the stage where our wonderful volunteer Kylie who worked tirelessly in organising this wish presented their very large "cheque/voucher."
To say there weren't many dry eyes in the room would be an understatement. The power of doing this for such a humble couple - we wish for many happy adventures for James and his family. Enjoy the video and know the importance of the power of a wish for someone who is seriously ill.
The video we presented on the night is to the left, where we suprised everyone in the audience including Chris that his wish was being granted that very night - the video also shows his presentation on stage.
We hope James and his family have many, many wonderful times in their camper trailer provided by Swag Camper Trailers.
