Krissy's Wish - Fun in the Sun

Kristina was in her final stages of battling breast cancer when her her friends applied for her wish. Krissy was a single mum to Bailey 8, Shae 6 and Hope 10 weeks old. She was diagnosed in March 2012 with breast cancer. She had a mastectomy then she started chemo for 6 Cycles. Krissy found out she was pregnant not long after this. She had a low dose of chemo and it was unknown if she and her unborn baby would survive. On 14 November 2013 her little miracle Hope was delivered by C-section, 6 weeks early so Krissy could start a stronger chemo.

On 20 January 2014 a blood test showed that her liver function was worsening,  and sent her for urgent scans the next day. The results were not great, the cancer had grown despite the strong chemo, so all treatment has been ceased. When Krissy was first diagnosed she said to her friend Christie "I want to take the kids to Queensland for a family holiday before I die", but because of all her medical issues and her pregnancy she has been unable to.

The Orange Pigeon organised for A Current Affair to help provide Krissy with a special day when we initially thought we couldn't get her to Queensland due to her declining health, we then got clearance from her doctor and was able to provide her with her dream holiday with her children which was caputred on A Current Affair. We also organised a meet and greet with Krissy's favourite AFL football team Collingwood.
